Laura Morgan was born in 1987 and spent her early years in South Wales, before moving to Gloucestershire as a young girl with her family.
She began drawing from a very young age, rarely seen with out a pencil and paper in her hands. Beginning her education at a small village primary school, it was soon clear to all that drawing was going to be the most important thing in Laura’s life. Throughout her school years her true passion was art, experimenting with various mediums including painting with oils, acrylics and watercolours, but always returning to her first love – pencil drawings.
Although portrait art tends to focus on families and pets, her favourite subject matter is wild animals, especially tigers, and she has completed a number of large acrylic and oil on canvass tiger portraits. There is a darker side to Laura’s art work too, being a huge fan of artists such as H R Geiger and Zdzislaw Beksinski, she has made many macabre creations.
Now based in Maesycwmmer, South Wales, Laura spends most of her time in her studio working on either commissioned work or her own personal pieces, and is looking forward to exhibiting her works in future. But on the rare occasions she wants a break from work she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and is a big quiz fan so spends many an hour brushing up on her general knowledge.
